SUBMITTER COMMENT: I was looking through the “first tattoo” tag, because I am getting one this weekend and want as much advice as possible. Found this lovely job, with this caption:
My very first tattoo I got at 17. My best friend got all her new tattoo junk and she did it on my couch, stopped halfway through to go chase down the icecream truck. This is one of my favorite tattoos for the memories behind it…
What’s Awful: It was done on an under age person, on a couch, by an ‘artist’ who thought it would be okay to run after an ice cream truck while tattooing. Most likely not even close to clean. Everything is uneven and blurry, and the ‘shading’ is brutal.
How it Can Be Fixed: By not getting tattooed on your couch by people who aren’t trained! As far as the art, maybe a really good cover-up or removal.
Oh, hey. Isn’t this Sophie’s tattoo?
Hurr durr its fucking awful this and that. Dude shut the fuck up their body their decision if I want a shitty stick and poke I’ll get one, if my friend tattoos me and runs after an icecream truck, who gives a shit. Assholes like you tell kids to spend 50$ to pierce their ears cuz “infectionzz and not professional”
Fuck you pretentious asshole, so many tattoo artists have such a bullshit superiority complex and think home tattoos are bullshit and they should spend 150$ an hour when half of them started out doing tats at home

This is just overreacting. The tattoo is good/ok, really not that bad. Perfectly fine for a first tattoo. Mine was made by a professional and in a studio and it still looks worse than this.
